In the tragic comedy Finsterworld by Frauke Finsterwalder and Christian Kracht, the fates of the twelve peculiar protagonists are closely interwined. The bookcover illustrates this: the twelve letters of the title seem to have grown together.
Inside, the initials of the protagonists at the top of each page indicate their location. The resulting indents create an open and moving appearance. The visible red yarn connects the individual layers as well as the episodes. It runs through the story and leads to its tragic bloody end.
